A city that is exemplary and participatory

The City of Brussels wishes to position itself as an exemplary and participatory city by encouraging openness and the empowerment of all stakeholders. 

It aspires to consult citizens and stakeholders, involving them in the development of its policy. 

A participatory city encourages the creation of neighbourhood councils to better respond to the specific needs of each neighbourhood. It is also setting up participatory processes on the ground and online, such as participatory budgets and the online platform fairebruxellessamen.be. 

By promoting transparency and active dialogue with citizens, the City aims to ensure that residents are fully involved in community life and that City services are more citizen-oriented.
