The City of Brussels aspires to be a city on the move to meet its mobility challenges. This involves a multimodal offer, a network of safe and accessible routes for cyclists, pedestrians and people with reduced mobility, as well as improvements to public transport.
The aim is to increase public transport use by 11% by 2030 and reduce private car use by 25%.
A city on the move also restricts through-traffic in residential areas to improve safety and air quality. This includes the development of sustainable and efficient urban distribution centres for goods, that avoid the city centre.
Finally, it is a city that provides smart and flexible parking solutions to eventually reduce the number of cars in public spaces.
